Dr. Gigli's Bio
Background
Dr. Gigli is an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner and health services researcher with an overall mission to improve child health by enhancing the quality, accessibility, and equity of health care systems serving them. I have concentrated my own research on improving the delivery of healthcare in hospital settings in three related areas: inclusion of nurse practitioners in care delivery, improving the work environment and teamwork, and policies that improve access to and quality of pediatric health and mental health care.
Nurse: Dr. Gigli works as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner in the pediatric intensive care unit at Children’s Health Dallas. Since 2008, she has provided patient care, leadership, and clinical mentoring. Her experiences in clinical care inform her research and bring focus to her advocacy.
Scientist: Dr. Gigli uses mixed-methods and econometric analysis to identify opportunities to improve care delivery for children and their families.
Educator: Dr. Gigli is a faculty member in Graduate Nursing at the University of Texas in Arlington. She teaches courses in health policy and pathophysiology.
